On Tuesday, March 31 at 10 am (EDT) there will be a live stream Mass in remembrance of my sister, Terri Schiavo on the 15th anniversary of her tragic and unnecessary death.
I ask that you please join in remembering Terri as she was killed by an injustice that continues to happen so often in our hospitals and courtrooms.
We all need to understand that the media lied about Terri, her condition, and our family.
Terri did not need ‘machines’ to keep her alive. Terri was not on artificial life support. She was not in a coma. And she was clearly not brain dead as she could respond and did respond, especially when our mom was near her.
It was heartbreaking to hear the lies, and watch the hate and the lack of compassion for someone with a brain injury. For years she was denied therapy that could have helped her get back more function in her body. Then, the courts ruled that her estranged husband could ask the care facility to deny her food and water.
My sister was starved to death over thirteen painful and horrific days.
We need to remember so we can stop this from happening.
The Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network has team up with Catholic Healthcare International and The Christ Medicus Foundation to begin a plan to open a Terri Schiavo Home for the Brain Injured. This will be a safe place for the medically vulnerable. Read more about the issues in the recent LifeNews.com article.
We will live stream on the Catholic Healthcare International(CHI) Facebook page, and the Terri Schiavo Life and Hope Facebook Page so be sure to join in.
Following the Mass, celebrated by CHI Board Member and former cardiologist Fr. Tim Nelson, pastor of the beautiful St. Mary Star of the Sea in Jackson, MI, will be special messages for the viewers from CHI Episcopal Advisor, Cardinal Burke; my mom and I, Mary and Bobby Schindler; and Jere Palazzolo, President of CHI.
Please share this Live Stream and invite your friends and church family!
Stay healthy & God bless!
Bobby Schindler
