The Canonization of St. Pio of Pietrelcina — St. Peter Square in Rome

Padre Pio was a man of prayer, pain and suffering, and dedicated his life to the relief of Jesus’ suffering children. The number of lives changed through his intercession in incalculable. He died in the 50th year of his stigmata, on September 23, 1968 at the age of 81. His legacy lives on through the international prayer groups and the Work of the Casa in Italy. Padre Pio was beatified by Pope John Paul II in May 2000, and was canonized as a saint of the Church in June 2002. St. Pio pray for us!
